Tom Singh OBE is a visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist and founder of New Look, a fashion retailer with over 800 stores worldwide.
New Look, a trailblazer in fast fashion, is one of the UK’s best-known fashion brands, and was founded in 1969 with a single store in Taunton. Focusing on strategy and product, Tom served as a Non-Executive Director of the business until he stepped down in 2019 after a remarkable 50-year career at the helm.
Tom is a Founding Member of the Social Impact Investment Taskforce that aims to grow the social impact investment market. He is determined to improve the lives of marginalised groups in South Asia as a member and previous Chairman of the UK Advisory Council for the British Asian Trust.
Through their family office, Rianta Capital, the Singh Family are focused on the pursuit of a broad range of investment objectives encompassing retail, real estate, and private equity. Tom is a Trustee of The Artha Initiative, the philanthropic arm of the family office, which is dedicated to uplifting underprivileged communities in India through encouraging enterprise and social entrepreneurship. In addition, Tom is the Founder of The Pakhar Foundation and remains active as a social investor.
Tom has invested in forward-looking wardrobe rental platform, Hurr Collective, and Love the Sales, an online platform for discounted clothing.
Tom studied International Politics and Geography at the University of Wales.
