Tom Singh, OBE, is a visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist and Founder of New Look, the fashion clothing retailer with over 900 stores worldwide.
New Look, a trailblazer in fast fashion, is one of the UK’s best known fashion retail brands, which began back in 1969 with a single store in Taunton. Focusing on strategy and product, Tom served as Non-Executive Director of the business until he stepped down in 2019 after a remarkable 50-year tenure in fast fashion.
Tom is a Founding Member of the Social Impact Investment Taskforce that aims at growing the social impact investment market. He is determined in his efforts to improve the lives of marginalised groups in South Asia as member, and previous Chairman, of the UK Advisory Council for the British Asian Trust.
Through their family office, Rianta Capital, the Singh Family are focused on the pursuit of a broad range of investment objectives encompassing retail, real estate, and private equity. Tom is Trustee of The Artha Initiative, a philanthropic effort of the family office, that is dedicated to uplifting underprivileged communities in India through encouraging enterprise and social entrepreneurship.
In addition, Tom is Founder of The Pakhar Foundation and remains active as a philanthropist and social investor. Most recently, Tom has invested in forward-looking wardrobe rental platform, Hurr Collective, and online platform for discounted clothing, Love the Sales.
Tom studied International Politics and Geography at the University of Wales.
