Simon Luhr has extensive experience in investment banking and is Founder and CEO of the FinEx group of companies.
A distinguished entrepreneur with a talent for identifying new opportunities, Simon has built many successful businesses over his 35 year career. He is highly experienced at establishing and running companies on a global scale and leads FinEx as CEO, providing clients with a wide range of investment opportunities. With a knowledgeable and diverse group of Partners, FinEx has a proven track record of providing high returns for clients.
As Founding Partner and CEO of hedge funds SW1 Capital and Marble Bar Asset Management, Simon was responsible for all aspects of their management. He played a crucial role in business development, which resulted in the successful sale of both firms.
Simon was Managing Director of global financial services group, Nomura, where he was also a member of the international management, capital commitment and risk committees. During his time there he built and oversaw the securities lending, delta one swap and prime brokerage divisions globally.
In his earlier career Simon was head of Europe and member of the global management committee of MSServices. This division housed prime brokerage, equity finance, global custody and MSCI at Morgan Stanley. Simon co-founded the equity finance business and played a key role in developing Morgan Stanley’s prime brokerage operations, which became the largest of its kind in the world.
Simon was involved in establishing FundClear and successfully led its sale to Capco in 2006. He was a Partner at Execution Limited and Crosby Capital Partners and started his career at Citicorp Scrimgeour Vickers.
Simon is a Non-Executive Director and investor at Asterisk Networks and MDX Technology Limited. He has invested in various companies including Privitar, Exogenesis Corporation, Algarve Rocks, Track & Treat and is a founding investor at LA-based software company, InvestCloud Inc.
