Josh’s Biography

Joshua (Josh) Critchley is a senior leader in financial services, having spent thirty years in investment banking advising boards and management teams on a variety of complex strategic, financial and operational issues.

He is Vice Chair of Global Investment Banking for the Royal Bank of Canada. He was previously their long-time Head of European and Asian Investment Banking, serving in that role for twelve years, including seven years as a member of RBC Capital Markets’ Global Operating Committee. He joined RBC in 2009 to help lead the build-out of RBC’s investment banking and equities footprint in Europe as part of RBC becoming a full-service investment banking provider.

Before RBC, Josh held senior roles in Corporate Broking and Equity Capital Markets at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch.

As a senior leader at RBC he has helped drive the relationship between GOSH and RBC, including the marquee annual RBC Race for the Kids. In 2024 Josh was made a Trustee of the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

Josh has a strong interest in leadership, coaching, mentoring and development and is currently a participant in Meyler Campbell’s Mastered executive coaching programme and is a speaker at Bayes Business School – City, University of London.

Josh is married to Elizabeth, the managing partner of a global private equity firm, and they live with their four children in central London.
