Michael Covell is an experienced non-executive Chair and Board Director with a strong background in private equity-backed, privately owned, and international financial services firms.
Currently, he is the Chair of Ascot Lloyd Group, a leading UK financial planning firm backed by Nordic Capital (formerly Oaktree); Le Masurier, a Jersey-based real estate investment and development company; and Sackville Capital, an institutional investment firm focused on private markets. In these roles, Mike works closely with shareholders and management teams to drive growth, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen long-term strategic positioning.
Previously, Mike served as Chair of Acolin Group, a Swiss cross-border fund distribution platform supported by Sovereign Capital; Tilney Group, a UK wealth manager (3i, Permira); and Hawksford International, an offshore fiduciary and professional services firm backed by Dunedin. In the latter part of his executive career, Mike was with Goldman Sachs, retiring in 2008 as a Managing Director in the European Private Wealth Management division.
Prior to Goldman Sachs, he was a senior Partner at Rawlinson & Hunter, an international accountancy firm, where he established a strong foundation in tax, trust, and fiduciary advisory services.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys sports, particularly field sports and endurance events like triathlons. He was educated at Harrow School and L'Institut Britannique in Paris.
