In 2008, Jason began working with Crossroads for Kids, a youth development nonprofit, and currently serves as Trustee & Development Chair. The inspiration for this stems from two childhood events. One is the story of a friend facing difficult life circumstances; the other is an impactful childhood encounter with Saint Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa).

His first steps in charitable work came in high school working in soup kitchens; but it was during a Semester at Sea journey in 2003, visiting many countries, including Cuba, Brazil, South Africa and India, that he experienced the impact of his actions. He witnessed a way of life removed from necessities seen as ordinary, and he worked with locals to improve education, with an experience in Cape Town being the inspiration to work with The House of Mandela. In India, things came full circle while working at an orphanage run by Mother Teresa’s’ Missionaries of Charity, nearly ten years after they met.

Jason earned a BS in Business Administration from Colby-Sawyer College.
