Mr. Pinto is a Managing Director of the MVC Private Equity Fund L.P. Since November 2010, he has served as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of MVC GP II, LLC, the MVC Private Equity Fund’s General Partner.

Mr. Pinto also serves as the President of PFG, Inc. and was previously a general partner of Grace-Pinto LP, a significant activist fund formed in 1987. Over the course of his career, Mr. Pinto has participated in numerous transactions, with a particular emphasis on investments involving corporate turnarounds and restructurings, as well as energy, food & telecommunications investments.

Mr. Pinto has served on the Boards of a variety of publicly traded and private companies in a variety of sectors and he currently serves on the boards of private companies in the aerospace, automotive and oil & gas industries. An early investor in emerging markets he has invested in markets including Russia, Japan, Panama & Portugal.

His legal career began as an Associate at Kelley, Drye and Warren in New York. His government service includes working for the Department of Justice, Department of Energy, International Trade and Emergency Preparedness, and Counsel to the White House Conference on Coal. He is both a former officer of the International Law Section and director of the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association and is admitted to practice law in New York State. He is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States of America.
