Barry Townsley’s Biography

Barry Townsley CBE co-founded Hobart Capital Markets LLP which was formed after Hobart Capital Markets Ltd was transferred in 2013. In addition to his roles as Chairman and Founding Partner, Barry is responsible for business strategy and running the company.

Barry is a Co-Vice Chairman of the Serpentine Gallery and a Director of Caprice Holdings Ltd. He is President of the Trustees of Weizmann UK and sits on the Executive Committee of The Weizmann Institute of Science, one of the top multi-disciplinary research institutions in the world. He is the former Non-Executive Chairman of Glantus Holdings PLC.

He is also Chairman Phase 4, PBT and Cancer Development Board, UCLH and a Patron of Trinity Hospice London. In 2021 Barry joined the Growth Board of Centrepoint, a charity that supports homeless young people with accommodation and associated support services.
