Steve Zide’s Biography

Steve Zide is an American businessman, investor, and philanthropist. He retired as the Head of Industrials at Bain Capital, a global alternative asset and private equity firm after some 20 years with the organization. During his time as a Partner/Senior Managing Director at Bain Capital, Steve led numerous transactions on four continents. During his tenure at Bain Capital, he was head of the New York office and helped establish Pacific Equity Partners, a leading Australasian investment firm, which, at its inception, was an affiliate of Bain Capital.

Steve is presently the Founder and CEO of the Zide Family Foundation, a non-profit organization that focuses on veterans, first responders, community service, child development, and food & water insecurity. He is a Trustee of Boston University and a member of the Dean’s Advisory Committee for Boston University School of Law. Prior to his time at Bain Capital, he was a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis, a leading American multinational law firm, serving as a founding member of the New York office.

Steve earned a BA from the University of Rochester, a JD from Boston University School of Law, where he was an Editor of the Law Review, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
