Seema Verma’s Biography

Seema Verma is the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Oracle Health and Life Sciences. She oversees Oracle's clinical and clinical trials applications portfolio and works to help narrow the divide between clinical research and clinical care, so patient outcomes are improved by the insights unlocked through Oracle’s cutting-edge cloud and AI technology. Seema is also responsible for the continued development of Oracle Health’s next-generation electronic health record (EHR) system.

Seema began her career with the Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County (HHC). This experience offered invaluable exposure to the complicated challenges providers and their patients face on the front lines. After her time in Marion County, Seema established a national healthcare consulting company (SVC, Inc.) focused on public health policy. Over the years, she worked with state governments and the private sector, growing the firm into one of the most respected in the country before selling it.

Seema began her career with the Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County (HHC). During the 2017 presidential administration, Seema was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on a bipartisan basis to serve as the administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). She served from 2017 to 2021, making her one of the longest-serving administrators in history. She had many successes during her tenure, including the historic Patients Over Paperwork initiative, which prioritized reducing patient costs and clearing unnecessary, bureaucratic red tape.

In addition to her current role with Oracle Health, Seema serves on the boards of multiple organizations in an advisory capacity. This includes being a member of the USC Schaeffer Center Advisory Board at the University of Southern California (USC), a board advisor at TapestryHealth, and a member of the Board of Directors at Eskenazi Health Foundation.
