In addition to his advocacy work, Robert is a passionate sportsman and the Founder of the world-class R-SIX Team, which competes internationally in off-shore sailing and off-road motorsport events. Under his leadership, the team has achieved multiple podium finishes at prestigious competitions. In 2011, together with Roman Paszke and team, he set a world record for the fastest time to complete the sea route between the Canary Islands and Guadeloupe, as measured by the World Sailing Speed Record Council. He is also a member of the Royal Ocean Racing Club, International Maxi Association, Polish Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, Polish Hunting Association, Polish Sport Shooting.

The R-SIX Team Sailing division was established in 2016, making its debut in offshore sailing with a victory at the Multihull Cup in Mallorca. The team followed this success by winning the Antigua Sailing Week Caribbean Cup in both 2017 and 2018. One of the R-SIX Team's greatest achievements is securing second place in the MOCRA multihull class at the 2017 Rolex Fastnet Race.
The R-SIX Team was founded in 2008 by Robert Szustkowski, initially concentrating on motorsport events like the TransSyberia Rally. In 2016, the team expanded to include a sailing division, achieving success in offshore sailing with a win at the Multihull Cup.
Philanthropist, Robert Szustkowski, is an Ambassador of The 5P Europe Foundation, and is committed to enhancing global well-being through its foundational principles: People, Planet, Partnership, Peace, and Prosperity. A key initiative focuses on building 100 sports zones in The Gambia to encourage children's physical health and social development, with intentions to extend this meaningful project to other regions of the globe. Robert Szustkowski, as an ambassador of the foundation, participated in the World Gathering of Leaders focused on children's rights issues, as well as in the World Day of Children event held in Rome in 2025. In an open letter to Vice-President Vera Jourova and Commissioner Didier Reynders, Robert makes a case for extending the EU’s “Right to be Forgotten” to include news media outlets as data controllers. This request highlights the need to strengthen the protection of personal rights for EU citizens in the digital age.

Antigua Sailing Week is one of the Caribbean's top yacht regattas, taking place annually off the coast of Antigua since 1967. It draws over 100 yachts and participants from across the globe. The event includes five days of intense racing and lively onshore activities, such as concerts and cultural celebrations, making it a standout event in the international sailing calendar.
The Multihull Cup is a competitive regatta aimed at 50’+ performance cruising multihulls. The Multihull Cup is comprised of multiple races: usually a mixture of coastal and windward. Mallorca, and especially the SW of Mallorca, offers an exceptional racing environment for performance cruising multis.
In addition to the highest podium in sailing competition, Robert Szustkowski’ R-Six Team became one of the leading global competitors in sailing world with numerous 2nd place results: Fastnet Race (2017 – Catamaran HH66), Heineken Regatta 2017 (Catamaran HH66), Les Voiles de St. Barth 2018 (Catamaran HH66) as well as 3rd place in Caribbean RORC 600 (2017 – Catamaran HH66), Les Voiles de St. Barth (2017 – Catamaran HH66).
The Africa Eco Race, launched in 2009 as the spiritual successor to the original Paris-Dakar Rally, takes competitors on a gruelling 6,500 km journey through Morocco, Mauritania, and Senegal. Robert Szustkowski is a partner and facilitator for collaboration of Martin Scorsese’ documentary project Aldeas – A New Story, serving as tribute to late Pope Francis educational vision with creators from the African continent (specifically The Gambia). Aldeas – A New Story, promises to be a deeply moving documentary that will serve not only as a tribute to the Pope’s educational vision but also as a record of his final in-depth on-camera interview. One of the key elements of the documentary will be the presentation of short films created by participants in the Aldeas Initiative—young creators from Italy, Gambia, and Indonesia—who will share their stories, highlighting local heritage and personal experiences.

Robert consistently offered humanitarian support for Ukrainian children, including aid to the orphanage run by Verein Strassenkinderprojekt Kiev (he was the Supervisory Board of this Foundation). He was also part of the evacuation support of the orphanage from Ukraine to Switzerland ; an ongoing initiatives through the 5P Europe Foundation to provide medical treatment and safe housing for young victims of conflict.

Robert offered pivotal aid to The Gambia during health crisis. He was the first person to send medical air transport with anti-Ebola equipment, later providing critical COVID-19 supplies and also supported the Cancer Walk 2016 in The Gambia. He is also involved in other Gambian social causes, including funding the country’s first hospice and contributing to public health and disaster preparedness. For his philanthropic efforts, Robert was honoured by being granted citizenship of The Gambia.
