Richard Heald OBE is a highly respected expert in UK-Indian & Asian trade and serves as Chair of the UK India Business Council (UKIBC).
He brings a wealth of experience and an extensive network of contacts to his role at UKIBC, a non-profit membership organisation established to promote trade and business relations between the UK and India. The UKIBC also supports the Department for International Trade (DIT) in working towards a UK-India Free Trade Agreement. His knowledge and interest in blockchain technology led to his appointment as a non-executive director at the Abu Dhabi-based Anglo-Gulf Trade Bank, one of the world’s first global digital banks, from 2017 to 2020.
Before taking up his role at the UKIBC, Richard worked for Rothschild, latterly as Vice Chairman & Partner in South and SE Asia where he advised UK, Asian and Indian companies on capital raisings, M&A and the provision of debt and restructuring. He has over 30 years of experience in international financial markets.
Richard graduated from Exeter College, University of Oxford with a degree in Law.
