Sir Michael Lockett is an advisor to some of the most exceptional and influential leaders, institutions, and corporations in the world. He has over 30 years’ experience creating outstanding moments and managing reputations.
As Chairman of Audley, he specialises in all the elements needed to build, enhance, protect and sustain a reputation.
In his earlier career, Sir Michael worked at Grey advertising before establishing his own business, LIVE, which became the world’s largest independently-owned live marketing company. At LIVE, he masterminded the Hong Kong Handover Ceremony, global re-launch of British Airways, National Millennial events, and the inaugural New Year’s Eve celebration at the London Eye. He also played a vital role in developing 'the story’ for London’s winning bid to host the 2012 Olympics, followed by the successful campaigns for the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014 and Rio in 2016.
Sir Michael led the Conservative Party’s presentation unit for Prime Minister John Major during the 1992 General Election campaign. His role concluded after 15 years with the successful leadership campaign for Prime Minister David Cameron, for whom he subsequently went on to stage the 2013 G8 summit in Northern Ireland.
Independently, he directed HM The Queen's Golden Jubilee Concerts at Buckingham Palace and has worked with the office of HRH The Prince of Wales since 2004.
In 2012, he chaired the companies that handled the Royal launch of The Shard and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the Olympics and Paralympics. He also served as CEO of the Thames River Pageant and was honoured with a knighthood by HM The Queen for his work on the project. Recently, Michael was appointed Co-Chair of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant 2022.
He created Audley to focus on advising corporate, political and institutional leaders globally. His other business interests lie in education, events, research, branding, executive search and film/digital.
