HITEC, the premier global executive leadership organization of Hispanic senior business and technology executives who have built outstanding careers in technology, today announced the addition of three new Hispanic technology leaders to their board of directors: Jesus Mantas, Senior Managing Partner, IBM Services; Jonathan Echeverria, Managing Director - Technology Infrastructure, Bank of America; Yamila Harris, Global Head of IT Service Delivery, Munich Re.
Jesus Mantas co-authored this report that is built upon a survey from the IBM Institute for Business Value (IBV). The survey both underscores this untapped potential and identifies actions that businesses can take to close the talent gap. This study explores four critical areas: Key factors that support Hispanic advancement in organizations; How discrimination in US society limits Hispanic advancement; How specific personal experiences with discrimination blunt the potential and motivation of Hispanic talent; How and why Hispanic women face particularly challenging hurdles.
The new book showcases the undeniable contributions of the Hispanic community. Contributor Jesus Mantas, senior managing partner, IBM Services wrote "I have been blessed by many great mentors, the hard-working discipline instilled in my upbringing by my family, and my fair share of opportunities. I enjoy paying it forward and helping our Hispanic community thrive…"
“Do you want to fit in the context, or do you want to be authentic — who you are, what you bring to the table. And the latter it is better for society and is better for business,” said Jesus Mantas, Sr. Managing Partner at IBM Services. “Teams that are formed with more inclusive, more authentic individuals outperform those that they don't,” he added.
"We all depend on this constituency for the U.S. economy and jobs to continue to grow, and that requires that we help more Hispanics with education, economic development and leadership advancement opportunities" said Jesus Mantas, Senior Managing Partner, IBM Services.
