Thomas was also both the Founder, and Director, at Darien Rowayton Bank in 2006. He began his career as a Stockbroker at Kidder, Peabody and Co, a prominent American investment bank.

In addition to his corporate roles, Thomas has served on the boards of organizations such as SIFMA, NASDAQ, and a subsidiary of the New York Stock Exchange NYSE Arca - formerly Archipelago Exchange.

He also has a deep philanthropic interest and was a Board Member of Special Olympics Connecticut, an organization that provides year-round sport competition and training for nearly 14,000 athletes and sports partners.
