Sanjay Brahmawar’s Biography

Sanjay Brahmawar is a distinguished technology executive and former CEO of Software AG.

He was the first non-German CEO to take the reins of the global technology innovator. With over two decades of experience, he has extensive software and Internet of Things expertise and led the organisation with a strong entrepreneurial approach.

Based in Germany, Sanjay steered Software AG through a new era of digitisation and connectivity. Executing a multi-year strategy to develop sustainable, profitable growth, the company enabled digital transformation for customers in over 70 countries.

Prior to joining Software AG, Sanjay held several senior positions at IBM, most recently that of General Manager for Global Revenue at Watson IoT. He started as an Associate Partner and transitioned into numerous high-level positions across several subsidiaries at IBM, including General Manager, Vice President & Executive Partner. He joined IBM from PwC where he was a Management Consultant.

Sanjay is a Trustee of the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and contributes to ADAMOS as a Member of the Advisory Board. He is also a Member of the Forbes Technology Council, a members-only group for C-suite and industry executives.

Sanjay is an influential thought leader in the software industry and frequently appears as a guest speaker. His view is that transformation is about more than just cosmetic changes, those companies that succeed are those who look at fundamental modernisation of their IT infrastructure.
