Roosevelt Ogbonna is a distinguished banking executive and the Group Managing Director & CEO of Access Bank, one of Africa’s largest financial institutions. Headquartered in Nigeria, the bank operates across Sub-Saharan Africa and the UK, with offices in China, Lebanon, India, and the UAE. Under his leadership, Access Bank provides comprehensive retail, business, corporate, and digital banking services, prioritizing sustainable growth and financial inclusion.

Roosevelt’s career began at Coronation Merchant Bank and included a two-year stint at Guaranty Trust Bank. He rose through the ranks at Access Bank, from Team Lead of Local Corporate to Executive Director of Commercial Banking. In 2017, he was appointed Deputy Managing Director, becoming Group MD/CEO in May 2022. His expertise spans Treasury, Commercial, and Corporate Banking.

His academic credentials are impressive, featuring an MBA from IMD Business School (Switzerland), an Executive MBA from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, and a Master’s in International Corporate & Commercial Law from King's College London. Roosevelt serves as a Non-Executive Director for Access Bank’s UK and South Africa subsidiaries. He represents the bank on the boards of the Africa Finance Corporation and the FMDQ Group, having previously served on the board of CSCS Plc.
