Phil’s Biography

Phil Jones is Founder of Podge Events, Chair of The Drum DADI Awards judges and advisor and consultant to businesses in the digital and creative industries.

He founded Podge Events over a quarter of a century ago, 28 years on and there is now a whole series of invitation-only gatherings for the who’s who in sport, design, creative, digital and music. The lunches include: Design Podge, Digital Podge, Sports Podge, Music Podge and Stodge Podge.

Phil is recognised as a leading figure in the design and digital industries, having been awarded a multitude of accolades for his contribution to the industries. He has also spent 16 years as Chair of the judges for The Drum Awards for Digital Industries (The DADI’s). Over this period The Drum has grown to become the biggest marketing website in Europe.

In his role as an advisor and consultant, Phil has worked with a variety of agencies and businesses serving the creative and digital industries. He currently works with Brand and digital design agency Brand42 and digital creative agency Wonderful where he co-hosts The Wonderful People Podcast,...

He currently works with Brand and digital design agency Brand42 and digital creative agency Wonderful where he co-hosts The Wonderful People Podcast, a series that delves into the lives of successful leaders in the design, digital, business and sports spheres. He is also a non-exec at Colooder – a digital fan experience platform that links the physical experience with digital services.

Phil is passionate about bridging the gap between education and the design industry and works as a mentor for the award-winning School of Communication Arts 2.0. as well as being a Co-Founder of The Design Community Hub, a community initiative he set up with other prominent names in design to help young design graduates during the Covid19 pandemic.

He is a mentor for the Kit Us Out charity which aims to level the playing field in sport, distributing unused, professional sports kits to provide athletes with more opportunities to enjoy sport and compete fairly. He also supports the British Inspiration Trust
