Mickey Bhatia’s Biography

Mickey Bhatia is the Global Head of Spread Products at Citi. Mickey has built a strong reputation in the financial space and has held numerous roles with Citi since being recruited by the firm to build its Global Correlation Trading business from London.

As part of the Markets division within Citi, Spread Products (SP) provides capital and liquidity to Citi clients through innovative financing solutions and secondary trading across corporate credit, consumer credit, residential and commercial real estate, transportation and securitized markets. During his tenure as Head and Co-Head of GSP, Mickey integrated and built the division into a market-leading business consisting of 1,000+ employees globally. Currently, he oversees all functions related to corporate and emerging market bonds, asset backed and mortgage-backed securities, collateralized loan obligations and more.

Mickey previously held various roles at Citi, with a focus on global products and securitized markets. As Co-Head of Global Credit & Securitized Markets, he led a global team of more than 750 employees and built the foundation for the formation of the Global Spread Products business, with a focus on strong risk management protocols. From 2007 to 2017, he served as Head of Global Structured Credit, where he was responsible for the credit financing business and the structuring and trading of all structured credit products globally. Prior to joining Citi, Mickey led the Flow Credit Correlation Trading and North American Credit Correlation Trading at Deutsche Bank and held various VP roles in credit and structured finance at J.P. Morgan.

Mickey holds a Ph.D. in Radiological Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), an MS in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University and a B. Tech. Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India. more less
