Matt Hermer is CEO of Futura Media Inc., his privately held company focusing on establishing Food & Beverage concepts across the US. In November 2018, Matt opened his first restaurant rollout concept, The Draycott. This flagship restaurant is located in Palisades Village, Rick Caruso’s development in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles. Matt also opened Olivetta in late December 2019 in West Hollywood, and then in August 2020 opened Olivetta on Holiday at La Peer hotel.
In October 2020, Matt set up a $100m distressed Food & Beverage Fund with a major international credit group. This fund is now focused on deals within the US and UK, and is currently working on several corporate acquisitions.
Prior to this, Matt was the Founder of the UK-based Ignite Group, which he sold in 2018. Ignite Group owned several international award-winning premium bars, clubs, and restaurants. With his 25-year career in investment banking and hospitality background, Matt helped revolutionize London’s failing cocktail culture in 1998 when he launched the Eclipse Bars in London, Istanbul, and the W Hotel in Barcelona. Matt also created the world-renowned nightclub, Boujis. Now sold, Boujis proved to be a huge decade-long success. With venues in London and Hong Kong, Boujis boasted a high-profile clientele of aristocracy and A-list celebrities. Matt also played an instrumental role in London’s farm-to-table movement, opening a number of Bumpkin restaurants in London that received outstanding reviews and praise for their commitment to using sustainable seasonal British produce.
