Lisa Cohen is the Founder & Editorial Director of Galerie Magazine. The magazine was launched in 2016, by Lisa Cohen and her husband James Cohen, of Hudson Media, with a shared vision to deliver the finest in art, design, interiors, and architecture, plus compelling creative talent and fascinating destinations.
Art and design are Lisa Cohen's twin passions. She studied Art History at Barnard College: from the architecture of the ancient Greeks to the modern works of artists such as Milton Avery, with a special love for the Old Masters. Lisa held the positions of Assistant Architecture Editor at House Beautiful and Columnist at Interiors, while earning certification and a designer associate’s degree at the New York School of Interior Design. After having four children, Lisa Cohen was the home editor of DuJour magazine for two years. Over the years, Lisa has built an eclectic art collection and was the creative force behind several homes in New York, New Jersey, and Palm Beach.
Lisa's philanthropic work includes serving as a Trustee of Barnard College, Member of the Dean's Council at Weill Cornell Medical Center, and Board Member of the Hetrick Martin Institute. Lisa is a Member of the Modern Circle of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Galerie Magazine was the media sponsor of the Met’s jewelry exhibition, The Body Transformed, a global conversation exploring how jewelry acts upon the body it adorns.
Additionally, Lisa Cohen is a Supporter of the White House Historical Association, a non-profit organization established by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, to enhance the public’s understanding of the White House and its rich history. Recently, Lisa was appointed to the Board of Guild Hall, an organization that fosters an appreciation of the arts and civic engagement.
