Hamish Burt is Co-Founder and President of LG Capital Investors, the single family office of Lawrence Guffey, which was established in 2014 and which is headquartered in New York City. Mr Guffey was previously a Senior Managing Director at The Blackstone Group where he had senior responsibility for the firm's Media & Communications private equity practice.
As President of LG Capital Investors, Mr Burt has primary responsibility for all investment and operating activities of the family office including the firm's portfolio management and strategy. Mr Burt also serves as Chief Operating Officer and a member of the Management and Investment Committees of Twin Point Capital, the firm's principal investment arm which has offices in Palo Alto, CA. Mr Burt currently serves on the boards of TPC Broadband Holdings, a Twin Point portfolio company, and the LG Family Foundation, a philanthropic organization.
Prior to LG Capital and Twin Point, Mr Burt was a Partner at Promethean Investments, a European private equity firm focused on special situation investments in the lower-mid market and previously was a director of The Lyle Anderson Companies, a real estate investment firm. Mr Burt began his career in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Gleacher Partners in New York City.
Mr Burt earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Durham University and holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, where he graduated on the Dean’s Honors List in 2007.
