Fady Jameel is Deputy President and Vice Chairman, International of Abdul Latif Jameel, a family-owned diversified business, founded in 1945 by the late Abdul Latif Jameel. Mr. Jameel heads the international operations of Abdul Latif Jameel in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT) region, Europe, Asia and the Americas. Fady Jameel is also a board member of Abdul Latif Jameel.
As President, International of Community Jameel, he has led an expansion of the organization’s global programs. Community Jameel’s flagship job creation program, Bab Rizq Jameel, has helped hundreds of thousands of men and women in work in the Middle East and North Africa, and Community Jameel’s deep and longstanding relationship with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has in recent years seen the establishment of the MIT Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab (J-WAFS); the MIT Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab (J-WEL); and the MIT Abdul Latif Jameel Clinic for Machine Learning in Health (J-Clinic). Most recently it saw the launch of the Abdul Latif Jameel Institute for Disease and Emergency Analytics (J-IDEA), cofounded by Community Jameel and Imperial College London, and the award of the 2019 Nobel Prize in Economics to two of the cofounders of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), which Community Jameel has supported and partnered with since 2005.
Fady is Chairman and Founder of Art Jameel. His passion and appreciation for art led him to create a number of successful initiatives and partnerships, including with the V&A Museum, London and Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Art Jameel recently announced the development of two major art centers including the Hayy: Creative Hub to open in Saudi Arabia winter 2019/20 2020 and the Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai.
