Erik Flegal is Founder & CEO of Family Fortune Financial LLC. With a team of experienced professionals, Family Fortune Financial helps its clients build, maintain and transition a legacy for future generations. The firm also has a curated rolodex of collaborative accountants, lawyers, financial advisors and business consultants, who work to ensure financial stability, while avoiding overpaying on taxes, hidden fees and commissions.

Prior to founding Family Fortune Financial, Erik worked at the Wells Fargo Private Bank in Charleston. Previously, he spent thirteen years in numerous roles at Morgan Stanley. His passion for developing collaborative systems and environments spurred him to create Family Fortune Financial.

Erik is also the Founder of Red Carpet Charleston, an invitation-only event series that helps new Charleston residents professionally and personally integrate into the local community. Focusing on high-level executives and decision-makers, the series provides members with introductions and connections with established leaders in the community.

As an active member of the community, Erik is on the Leadership Council of the National Small Business Association, the nation’s oldest small-business advocacy organization. He’s also a former board member of the Storm Eye Institute, an affiliate of the Medical University of South Carolina, an established leader in complex and serious eye conditions, and a former board member of Circle of Friends, an organization that supports school programs that build connections between special needs students and their peers.

Erik earned an MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business and a BA in English from UCLA, where he also was a member of the volleyball team, and later a member of the Youth Olympic Volleyball team that won a Gold Medal during international competition in Canada.

He also served his alma mater as an Instructor for UCLA Extension, where he taught courses in the Financial Certificate program. more less
