Buckley Ratchford is a private investor with more than two decades of leadership experience in the investments and asset management space. He manages Jackson Square, LLC which focuses on private investments across private credit and equity, distressed and venture capital strategies. He directs the firm’s investment capital as part of his family portfolio. He is a Senior Advisor and Board Member to startups in emerging sectors.
In 2012, Buckley founded and served as Managing Partner of Wingspan Investment Management, a credit-focused hedge fund. Under his leadership, Wingspan received a record-setting seed investment of $250 million from Reservoir Capital Group, and closed to new investors upon reaching $1 billion in capital under management.
The foundation of his expertise in the investments space was built during his 14 years at Goldman Sachs. Beginning as an associate in the Financial Institutions Group in 1998, Buckley quickly ascended into numerous leadership roles in the Global Credit Distressed Investing, Asia Ex-Japan Credit Trading and Global Bank Loan Trading divisions. In 2006, he was appointed as Partner in the Securities Division, where he was the head of a multi-billion-dollar proprietary investment group with interests in stressed credit, distressed debt and special situations equities. He earned a high profile due to his impressive track record of long-term risk-adjusted returns.
Buckley is committed to supporting numerous nonprofit and charitable organizations, including Tikkun Olam Makers, also known as TOM Global. TOM is an international movement that utilizes technology and provides resources to people in underserved communities around the world. He also serves on the board of PRIVO and promotes a range of charitable causes in his writings.
Buckley holds a BA, summa cum laude, in Government from Dartmouth College, an MSc in International Political Economy from London School of Economics and a JD, cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
