Alex O’Cinneide has many years of venture capital and private equity experience and is considered one of the global leaders in the field of sustainable investing.
He is the Founder and CEO of Gore Street Capital, an experienced renewable energy and private equity investment company, focusing on renewable energy assets and aspiring to improve the lives of millions around the world. Alex has served on numerous boards for global companies, operating in the renewable and clean technology sector, including 8minute Solar Energy, the USA’s largest privately held developer of solar PV and storage projects. He has also been active in private and governmental advisory committees in this sector.
Alex previously worked as Managing Director of Paladin Capital, a leading global investor that supports and grows the world’s most innovative cyber companies. In addition to this he held the post of Head of Paladin Capital Europe, while dividing his time as Senior Advisor to Kleinwort Benson Private Bank. Prior to that, Alex was Head of Investments of Masdar, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, a global leader in renewable energy and sustainable urban development. During his time at Masdar, he also served as General Manager of Masdar Capital, the private equity arm of the organisation.
Alex is an Advisor to UNICEF UK, where he is Chairman of the Climate Change Committee. He also serves as a Trustee of the London Irish Centre, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and is involved as Non-Executive Director at Sustainable Nation Ireland and Matter of Trust.
He was previously Vice-Chair of the board of the Biomimicry Institute and a visiting researcher to the Energy Policy Group at Cambridge University. He holds a MA from Trinity College Dublin as well as an MSc from the London School of Economics and London Business School.
