Susanne Given’s Biography

Susanne Given has been at the forefront of the retail industry and its online transition for the past two decades, working for digitally native brands and established industry leaders, including John Lewis, TK Maxx and Superdry. She currently chairs fast-growing digital scale-ups MADE and Hush, in addition to holding Non-Executive Director roles with FTSE 250 constituents Wm Morrison Supermarkets and Tritax Big Box REIT plc, as well as Middle Eastern-based luxury retail group Al Tayer.

Her experience, which has included all aspects of retail from value to luxury, food to fashion and high street to omni-channel, as well distribution centres, gives her a 360 degree understanding of international retail and related supply chains. She has been responsible for delivering digital transformation projects, international expansion, re-engineering supply chains and managing rapid growth.

As chair of MADE, Susanne has overseen the board transition from a founder-led business and the repositioning from a values-based ecommerce retailer, to MADE becoming Europe's leading digitally native design and homewares brand. She has worked closely with the executive team to scale the platform for rapid growth internationally, achieving a threefold increase in revenues over the last four years.

Her Non-Executive career has also included time at Eurostar, Push Doctor, Outfittery, and Deloitte North and South Europe.

During her Executive career, Susanne has taken on several high-profile roles at leading brands. She was COO and a main board director at FTSE 250 company, Superdry. Susanne took a lead role in City engagement and the rebuilding of shattered investor confidence, as well as creating and implementing a five year strategy for all infrastructure, sourcing, logistics and IT projects to ensure systems were robust and fit for global expansion.

Susanne is well connected with early stage founders and the technology ecosystem, and speaks at leading conferences.
