Simon Mackenzie-Smith is the former Chairman of Corporate and Investment Banking for the UK & Ireland at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He joined Merrill Lynch in 1996 as Managing Director of investment banking.
Prior to his tenure at Merrill Lynch, Simon worked at Morgan Grenfell International Ltd. In its heyday Morgan Grenfell was regarded as one of the most established and influential British merchant banks. Simon began his career at KPMG, one of the Big Four accountancy practices, where he worked as a consultant.
Simon is currently Chair of Trustees of the school-based children’s mental health charity, Place2Be, and a Council Member of Heart of the City, an organisation which supports City-based SMEs. Simon sits on the Judging Panel of the City A.M. Awards which celebrate London's financial community, and has previously served as a member of the Campaign Council of the National Portrait Gallery.
