Simon Lonergan is a Managing Partner at Behrman Capital, a private equity investment firm focused on the defense & aerospace, healthcare services, and specialty manufacturing & distribution sectors. Simon joined Behrman Capital in 2005, serving as a Partner before taking on his current role.
Before joining Behrman, Simon was Partner and Senior Managing Director at The Blackstone Group, in New York and London, where he co-led Blackstone’s pursuit of European private equity transactions. He was a member of The Blackstone Group’s Private Equity Investment Committee and a Board Member of eight portfolio companies across a range of industries, including media, communications, and packaging. Earlier in his career, Simon was an Associate at Bain Capital and prior to that, he was a Consultant at Bain & Company. Simon’s current Directorships include Corfin Industries, ILC Dover, and Tresys Technology Holdings.
Simon, along with his wife, are very active in the local NYC community, supporting causes in education and youth development. They have given their support to the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club, an organization that helps kids in need build character, achieve academic success, and lead healthy lifestyles, and The Fresh Air Fund, a nonprofit that gives kids from underrepresented communities the opportunity to experience a summer full of open air and outdoor activities. They are also sponsors of City Year, an education nonprofit that provides support and resources for local schools.
Simon graduated from Cambridge University with a BA in Mathematics and Economics and also earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.
