Sam Branson is an inspiring social entrepreneur, adventurer and philanthropist.
A committed environmentalist and bold explorer, Sam raised awareness for climate change by embarking on a 1400-mile-long expedition across the Arctic. The three-month journey proved to be a turning point in Sam’s life, inspiring him to create Sundog Pictures, a storytelling platform dedicated to effecting positive change.
Sam’s vision for the production company was to create documentaries that move people to engage more with the world, by telling stories that matter, and creating space for conversation around important subjects. Since its inception, the business has gone on to make BAFTA nominated films, tell human stories and create moving documentaries on a vast array of important global issues.
In 2020, Sam partnered with Hillary and Chelsea Clinton to develop a global production studio 'HiddenLight'. It celebrates the best of the human spirit and seeing the world in new ways.
As Co-Founder of Big Change, he set out to redefine how charity is done. Focusing on the root causes of issues, to encourage lasting systemic change, the charity incubates new and bold ideas, to help young people to thrive in life, not just exams.
Sam takes on every challenge confidently and his appetite for adventure is rooted in an eagerness to discover new insights from stepping outside his comfort zone. This shines through in another of his creations, The Virgin Strive Challenge.
As part of Virgin’s management team, Sam emphasises aligning people, planet and profit for the future of the business and sees the brand as a leader in how business can be a force for good in the world.
A qualified Yoga & Meditation teacher, Sam has also completed a course in Strategic Philanthropy and graduated from both Le Cordon Bleu London and Musicians Institute.
Sam is also a passionate Songwriter & Musician, and in 2021 released his debut single ‘Colours Fade’ via his artist alias 'Waves Rush In'.
