Rhian-Anwen Hamill is a Business Advisor and Coach with a special interest and deep experience of Family Enterprise.
Rhian worked in executive search for over 18 years as the Founder of RAH Partners, the leading European search firm in wealth and family office. She has a broad range of skills/experience; search, communications, organisation transformation, commercial/advisory experience, coaching, and blue chip banking (Goldman Sachs, Salomon Brothers). She was educated first at Cambridge University and later at the Tavistock Centre, Kets de Vries Institute, INSEAD and Meyler Campbell, with a specialist focus on family owned businesses.
Twenty years seeking the best talent has left Rhian an expert in people and all their complexity. She has moved from just selecting to developing individuals and their organisations, critiquing not just strengths and weaknesses but helping clients find potential for growth and change by being true to themselves, understanding their purpose and finding authenticity in the systems within which they operate. She listens actively and guides senior people to make good decisions and avoid pitfalls as individuals and commercial and family collectives. Establishing authentic and effective leadership by fair processes within a family business can be hard when there are large shoes to fill, a deep heritage and rapidly changing requirements, including from generational shareholders. Rhian is committed to using non directive processes, enabling, unlocking, harnessing and energising family systems, often in a multi-generational environment, to personal, commercial and stakeholder advantage.
Rhian’s interests include:
• Succession planning and “retirement” guidance from a human perspective
• Next generation step-up coaching
• Women in family businesses
• Career counselling
• Organisation structures
• Board preparation
• Family dynamics and management across multiple generations and linked families
