Paul Richardson is Executive Director at leading UK fitness apparel brand, Gymshark.
At Gymshark Paul advises on business planning, development and long-term strategy, while also managing Gymshark’s property division that designs innovative work spaces around the globe. In August 2020 a deal was struck with General Atlantic that valued Gymshark at more than £1bn ($1.3bn). The valuation means that Gymshark joins the list of less than 25 British companies to have secured 'unicorn' status since 2001.
In addition, Paul is a Director of Clade Group, one of the main shareholders of Gymshark. Prior to this, Paul acted as Managing Director and Senior Vice President of Knowaste, a waste management business that specialises in the recycling and disposal of absorbent hygiene products.
As a Joint Owner and Director of well-known fashion retailer AllSaints, Paul gained experience in managing retail and clothing companies, which he would later apply to his strategic role at Gymshark. Paul was also engaged as Chief Executive Officer of Midlands waste management operation, City Waste Plc.
Paul has served as Non-Executive Director and Advisor to the main board of Birmingham City Plc working closely with David Sullivan and Karren Brady and is currently involved as a member of the Chartered Institution of Waste Management (CIWM), a professional organisation for the waste management sector in the United Kingdom.
In 2019 Paul and Gymshark’s Chief Financial Officer, Philip Daw, were awarded The Profit Track 100 award for international growth after the company’s sales abroad grew by 163% in 2018.
