Paul Casey’s Biography

Paul Casey is an English professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour and European Tour. Paul won a scholarship to Arizona State University and he played collegiate golf from 1997 to 2000. He won the English Amateur title back to back in 1999 and 2000 while recording victories in 3 consecutive Pac-10 Championships at Arizona State between 1998 and 2000. Paul Casey is an English professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour and European Tour. Paul won a scholarship to Arizona State University and he played collegiate golf from 1997 to 2000. He won the English Amateur title back to back in 1999 and 2000 while recording victories in 3 consecutive Pac-10 Championships at Arizona State between 1998 and 2000.

In 2000, Paul broke the championship scoring record (previously held by Tiger Woods at 18 under par) with a remarkable 23 under par score of 265. After turning professional in 2000, Paul joined the European Tour in May 2001. He went on to finish 22nd on the European Tour's Order of Merit that year and was named the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year.

He has won a total of 14 European Tour titles in his career to date. Paul joined the PGA Tour in April 2004. He won the World Golf Championships-World Cup in partnership with Luke Donald that same year. In 2006, Paul was named European Tour Player of the Year. Paul has won three PGA titles in total.

Paul has finished in the top 10 in Major Tournaments on 9 occasions over the last 19 years, with his best finish coming in a tie for third place in The Open at St Andrews in 2010. Paul has been a member of the European Team competing against the USA in the Ryder Cup in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2018. In 2020, Paul was named to the 16-member PGA Tour Player Advisory Council

Paul started the Paul Casey Foundation for junior golfers in 2007 at Foxhills Golf Club in Surrey, offering scholarships to needy junior golfers. The Foundation was dissolved in 2018. Paul is an Ambassador for Unicef, who work on behalf of the United Nations Children's Fund for children's rights.

He enjoys mountain biking and snowboarding when he is not on the golf course.
