Larry Mock is a Managing Partner of the SPAC Operations Group at Navigation Capital Partners. Larry has spent decades in the private equity and investments space, developing an in-depth industry knowledge and expertise that has made him an esteemed thought leader.
The SPAC Operations Group makes equity investments in Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs). The Group employs an innovative 'SPAC-in-a-Box' approach, which reverses the SPAC process by seeking out CEOs and business opportunities independent of the IPO process. Also, with its 'SPAC-on-the-Shelf' approach, investments are created and ready for implementation when a management team is identified to pursue a transaction. This simplifies the process and allows the team to move forward immediately after acquisition.
Before joining Navigation Capital, Larry was CEO and President of Mellon Ventures, a private equity firm whose portfolio was later acquired by Navigation Capital and Goldman Sachs. Under his leadership, Mellon grew significantly with a portfolio containing investments totaling $1.4 billion in 136 operating companies and 70 private equity partnerships.
As a successful business leader, Larry continues to offer guidance on several directorial boards, including AVCtechnologies, a leading cloud communications provider, and Brightwell Payments, an Atlanta-based financial services company. Larry gives back to the Atlanta community and encourages young business professionals by Chairing organizations, such as Atlanta Mission, the city's largest homeless shelter, and the prestigious Atlanta International School, among others.
Larry served as a US Delegate to the United Nations and as a White House Fellow. He is a combat-decorated Marine Corps veteran, having commanded a rifle platoon in Southeast Asia. Larry received a BA from Harvard College and an MS from Florida State University. He completed his postgraduate education at the London School of Economics.
