Kiki’s father and grandfather were both jewellers, igniting in her a passion for designing timeless, feminine jewellery and an enduring love of working with the finest gemstones and diamonds. “I have always loved coloured gemstones and thought they were underrated and undervalued. I knew they should be enjoyed and incorporated into beautiful designs.”
Kiki established her eponymous brand in 1985, opening her flagship store in Chelsea, and just two years later, her very first pair of earrings went on show in the V&A’s modern jewellery collection. With more than three decades of experience in the industry, Kiki’s own lifestyle and passions have always influenced her collections, from travel and flowers to the ballet and Liverpool Football Club.
Kiki McDonough has become the destination for colourful earrings. Kiki herself gravitates towards light and warmth and this is showcased in wearable jewellery imbued with colour and vivacity. “I have never met a woman who doesn’t look better when wearing a touch of colour on her ears or hands; every piece I design should light up the face and make her feel altogether more positive.”
Kiki McDonough has always created confident, contemporary designs of the highest quality that can stand the test of time – the jewellery can be worn by all generations of the same family. With strong British roots – a loyal local of London’s Sloane Square for three decades and worn by the Royal Family – Kiki McDonough has grown rapidly over the past decade and is now also known and appreciated on a global stage.
