Juliet Slot is a highly regarded commercial, strategic and enterprising leader in the sports, media and entertainment industry.
The former Chief Commercial Officer of Ascot Racecourse has been consistent in leading successful commercial change, being unafraid to challenge the status quo. Her track record is exemplary in driving growth by leading strategic restructures or by growing and re-focusing teams. Creativity in seeing and delivering on new opportunities has been a constant theme in her career. Her ability to see strategy clearly and lead, not only by example but by astute delegation and direction, is reflected in the loyalty and success of her teams.
During her eight years at Ascot, Juliet increased total revenue by over 100% facilitating profitability growth of 85%. She landed significant partnership deals in a challenging market; developed new products across existing commercial channels and found new revenue streams. She also revitalised a brand that had slightly lost its lustre. Her persuasive and passionate approach ensured that the brand and customer experience was delivered, always with an eye on profitability.
Juliet has built diverse teams, a desire based on her experience of being the only woman on virtually every board she had previously been part of. Her ability to draw from the strengths of a diverse team and lead different skillsets is a strong leadership quality, important for all businesses.
Her commerciality, marketing and sales experience was recognised by external boards and Juliet was asked to represent all independent racecourses on the Great British Racing Board, she was the only non-CEO around the board table. She is currently a Non-Executive Director at the British Olympic Association. Earlier in her career, Juliet made history at Fulham Football Club when she became the first woman to be appointed at board level.
