Fergie May CFA has spent the majority of his career in Asia (Hong Kong and Shanghai) as well as London, where he has gained over 20 years of investment experience in the private equity and institutional public markets.
Fergie’s career started at BlackRock in Taipei and London as a Fund Manager, where he worked for 8 years managing Asian Small Cap Portfolios. During this time, he was seconded to Bank of China from 2003 – 2007 to help set up their Sino-American Asset Management joint venture based in Shanghai.
Subsequent to his time at Black Rock, in 2007 he founded Dongpo Capital, to invest in growth stage technology companies in Europe and Asia. Working in partnership with the Burrell Group, a growing part of Dongpo Capital's business focuses on outbound capital flows from Asia, particularly into the US and UK.
From 2013-2016 he was a Partner at Aspinall Capital Partners, a growth stage private equity platform which focuses on industrial technology solutions.
Fergie is an executive committee member of the International Technology Transfer Network in Beijing, and he also sits on several boards of Asian industrial technology companies as a Non-Executive Director. He is a CFA Charterholder, and has a Master's degree in Mandarin and Japanese from the University of Edinburgh.
