David Wells is Partner at leading communications firm Prosek Partners, where he brings many years of experience in establishing and executing financial communications strategies. David’s expertise is in handling strategy, operations, reputation management, media and investor relations, as well as special situations.
Prior to joining Prosek, David was Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for the Consumer and Investment Management Division at Goldman Sachs. His previous role at the firm was as Head of Corporate Communications for North and South America. Prior, he worked as Head of Marketing and Communications at J.P. Morgan Chase, where he was responsible for overseeing marketing and communications activities in the Europe, Middle East and Africa.
David began his career as a journalist and commentator for a range of highly-regarded financial publications. At the Financial Times, David was editor of International Company News, Deputy Editor of World News and Senior Wall Street Correspondent. In his first role, David worked as a reporter for Bloomberg, where his writing focused on the Money Team, Markets and Energy.
In addition, David contributed as an analyst for the radio program Marketplace, and made appearances on leading news networks, including CNN, BBC and CNBC. He serves as Vice Chairman of the advisory board of Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies and Benson Latin American Collection at the University of Texas. He is also a member of the Morgan Library and Museum’s Modern and Contemporary Collectors Committee.
David holds a master's degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas and a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Texas Christian University.
