David Panton’s Biography

David Panton serves as Managing Partner of the SPAC Operations Group at Navigation Capital Partners, a firm he co-founded and for which he serves as a Partner. Navigation Capital Partners is a private equity firm focused on growth and buyout investments in middle-market companies.

The SPAC Operations Group makes equity investments in Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs). It employs an innovative 'SPAC-in-a-Box' approach, which reverses the SPAC process by seeking out CEOs and business opportunities independent of the IPO process. Also, with its 'SPAC-on-the-Shelf' approach, investments are created and ready for implementation when a management team is identified to pursue a transaction. This simplifies the process and allows the team to move forward immediately after acquisition.

David has decades of experience in the investments and private equity space and has proven to be an adaptive and innovative leader. He co-founded and served as Chief Strategy Officer for AVCtechnologies, a leading cloud communications provider that develops innovative and manageable cloud-based UCaaS, Cybersecurity and IT solutions. Earlier in his career, David was Vice President of Mellon Ventures and founded private equity firm Panton Equity Partners, and currently serves on its board.

An experienced board member and advisor, David currently sits on the Board of Directors for Ameritech Facilities Services LLC and D and Z Media Acquisition Corp. He is also the Chairman of the Jamaican Chamber of Commerce of Atlanta, which provides support and financial relief to Jamaican business owners and future leaders of Atlanta.

Outside of his work with Navigation Capital, David is an Adjunct Professor at Emory University's Goizueta Business School, where he passes down his knowledge to MBA and BBA students through courses on entrepreneurship and private equity. Earlier, he served his home nation of Jamaica as a Senator in the Upper House of Parliament.
