Brian Rathjen is President of Roberts & Ryan Investments Inc., a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned (SDVO) institutional broker dealer. Roberts & Ryan provides execution capabilities in fixed income and equity agency trading, corporate debt in the capital markets, and municipal underwriting.
In 2010, Brian founded Kelson Group and currently serves as Founding Partner and Senior Managing Director. Kelson is a placement agency that specializes in raising assets for money managers with a focus on the public pension and Taft-Hartley markets. Prior, Brian founded the Asset Management division at the Marwood Group, a healthcare-focused advisory and consulting firm, where he held the position of Senior Managing Director, Asset Management.
A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Brian continues to support the Academy, service members, and veterans in many ways. He is on the Board of Directors of Boulder Crest Retreat, a nonprofit focused on health and wellness for service members, veterans, and their families. Brian also served as a Trustee on the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation, an organization committed to supporting officers in the Naval Academy and enhancing programs and facilities of the Naval Academy and its Alumni.
Brian currently serves on the Service Academy Nomination Selection Board of the Office of Senator Kristen Gillibrand and the Service Academy Selection Committee of the Office of Congresswoman Kathleen Rice. Brian was also a Historian for the Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick, a relief organization for immigrants from Ireland.
Brian earned a BS in Economics from the United States Naval Academy. While serving at Pearl Harbor, Brian, then a Lieutenant, was awarded both the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal for Meritorious Service.
