Ben is currently Director and CIO of Fairgreen Capital Ltd, an FCA regulated (Appointed Representative) advisor on a global structural growth (long equity, beta neutral) liquid fund with the aim of delivering a consistent level of return with low volatility. This strategy was devised over an 8-10 year tenure at a family office with capital preservation in mind. Ben’s previous employer (Albatroz LLP), is a seeding investor in the new platform.
Prior to Fairgreen Capital, Ben spent 10 years as an adviser and then the CIO of Albatroz Security Management (UK) LLP, a multi-strategy Investment platform for 4 wealthy Latin American families. Ben chaired the Investment Committee as well as overseeing the direct investment sleeve into real estate, private equity, direct lending and venture. He also ran the Global Structural Growth beta neutral strategy for the firm and generated a 6 year track record of consistent, low volatility returns.
Ben is also an Investment Adviser to Harwell Capital, a direct venture platform.
Holding senior executive roles throughout his career, Ben was previously with Traderoutes Finance, Renaissance Capital, UBS and Carnegie.
Ben set-up the first European Emerging markets trading, research and sales desk at Carnegie and took this franchise to SG Warburg (later bought by UBS) where this business acted as the base for Warburg winning the most number of privatization mandates than any other Bank in Europe at the time in Portugal, Greece and Turkey. Whilst at UBS, Ben succeeded in gaining a Diploma in Computer Science and led the global technology specialist sales and research effort.
At Renaissance, Ben ran the International business of the Investment bank and then ran an emerging markets hedge fund.
Ben has a BSc in Economics & Economic History.
