Barry Volpert is Co-Founder and CEO of Crestview Partners, as well as Chairman of its Fund IV’s Investment Committee. Crestview Partners is a value-oriented mid-cap private equity firm which invests in energy, financial services, industrial and media companies.
Previous to this, Barry was a partner of Goldman Sachs. Here, he spent 18 years working within the Global Private Equity business, of which he was Co-Founder and ultimately Co-Chief Operating Officer. During his time at Goldman Sachs, Barry headed up the International Private Equity business while based in London for six years.
He is also a Board Member of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights which works alongside local activists to ensure lasting positive change in governments and corporations and is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board at Harvard Law School.
Barry received a JD from Harvard Law School, where he was also an editor of the Law Review; an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar; and an AB from Amherst College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. After graduating from Amherst, he was a Luce Scholar in Singapore working for the Straits Times.
