Andy Merrill is Partner and member of the senior leadership team at Prosek Partners. He leads the firm’s Special Situations Practice, where he applies his expertise in financial communications, gained over nearly two decades, to counsel clients involved in significant transactions, shareholder activism, major litigation, corporate crises and other event driven issues and situations that are likely to threaten corporate reputation.
Before joining Prosek, Andy was Senior Managing Director at Teneo, where he consulted leading multi-national corporations managing a variety of special situations. He worked closely with the CEOs and their boards of directors as an advisor on corporate strategy, operations, transaction communications as well as reputation management and media relations.
Prior to Teneo, Andy served as CEO of Finsbury in the United States, where he led the build-out of the US office and ultimately facilitated the firm’s merger with Robinson Lehrer Montgomery. As CEO, Andy successfully established Finsbury’s US arm and strategically focused on national and international transaction communications, media and investor relations, crisis management as well as shareholder management.
Prior to his tenure at Finsbury, he worked as Global Managing Director of financial communications at Edelman. He served at Abernathy MacGregor as Managing Director and Partner after his appointment as Vice President at reputation management consultancy Sard Verbinnen & Co. In his early career, Andy worked in finance as an Investment Banker at multinational investment bank, UBS. Beforehand, he was a Senior Commercial Banker at The Bank of New York Mellon, where he also headed the bank's investor relations.
Andy was awarded with an MBA in Finance from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Cristo Rey New York High School and Row New York and is Chairman of the Stamford Hospital Foundation.
