After graduating cum laude from Parsons School of Design in New York City, Alexander joined Hakuhodo in Japan as an Art Director on the Coca-Cola account. He then returned to the U.S. to work at many acclaimed agencies, such as McCann-Erickson New York and SS+K. In early 2002 Alexander started Point One Percent to focus his strategic and creative talents on a niche market — the wealthiest .1% of the population.
