Andrew Joy’s Biography

Andrew Joy joined Stonehage Fleming as a Senior Advisor in 2013. He also Chairs Stonehage's Private Equity Investment Committee.

Andrew’s career has been in private equity, and he is a former Chairman of the British Venture Capital Association and a Director of its European equivalent, the EVCA.

He is Chairman of the Investment Committee at FPE Capital, a private equity fund investing in UK growth companies. Andrew is also Chairman of Herald Investment Trust plc, a company that invests in smaller quoted companies globally in the TMT sector. Until July 2022, Andrew served as Chairman of The Biotech Growth Trust plc, a company that invests in publicly listed biotech companies, mostly based in the US.

He spent 21 years as a Senior Partner at Cinven, the leading private equity partnership he co-founded in 1992, and served as chairman or director of many of the companies in which Cinven invested.
